The Raaj Shaandilyaa directed Dream Girl 2 has taken a good start at the India Box Office as early estimates suggest an opening day in the range of Rs. 8.70 to 9.70 crores. The film has opened in the same range as the first part and this in itself is a big victory given the market scenario of Ayushmann Khurrana in the post-pandemic world.
The film has collected approx. Rs. 5 crores across the three national multiplex chains – PVR, Inox & Cinepolis – and the three multiplexes have contributed 60% to the total business. The word of mouth seems to be on the positive side and there will be a jump in the business for Dream Girl 2 over the weekend.
The costs are controlled and hence there is a good chance for Dream Girl 2 to emerge as a success story, if it holds well on Monday. The multiplex chains aside, Dream Girl 2 has done well even in non-national chains and single screens.
The brand value and good promo are at play leading to a good start for the film and now all the eyes are on the film to capitalise on this start through the weekend.
