After making his debut with the romantic drama Betaab, which was directed by Rahul Rawail, Sunny Deol acquired the image of an action hero in the later years with films like Arjun, Ghayal, Ghatak, etc. His action filmography got a tremendous boost with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). Although the story of the film was born out of a love story, it is known for his action scenes, especially the one featuring the hand-pump. The film turned out to be a historic blockbuster.
Interestingly, Sunny’s next iconic blockbuster is the sequel to the same film in the form of Gadar 2, which released last month. The movie, which carried forward the cast of him, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, has been unstoppable at the box office and has now achieved history by entering the rare Rs. 500 Crores Club.
Gadar 2 has achieved this feat in just 24 days. By doing so, it has become the second fastest film to reach that target after the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan, which took 22 days to reach Rs. 500 crores when it released earlier this year. The third film in the list is the Hindi version of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which had taken 34 days to reach the score.
